DIP Dating App ("DIP", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, date of birth, gender
- Profile information: biography, job title, education, height, relationship preferences, interests, profile photos
- Location: your city or general location (we do not track precise GPS location continuously)
- Messages: content of messages sent between matched users within the app
- Verification information: selfie photos and ID documents submitted for optional identity verification
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: how you interact with the app, features used, time spent
- Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Crash reports: error logs and diagnostic information to improve the app
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your profile to other users for matchmaking purposes
- Facilitate connections between matched users
- Enable messaging between matched users
- Operate the Matcher and Dips features of the app
- Maintain the leaderboard and user statistics
- Send notifications about matches, messages, and app activity
- Improve, personalise, and develop the Service
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive behaviour
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
With other users
Your profile information (name, photos, bio, interests, age, location) is visible to other users of the app for the purpose of matchmaking. Users in Matcher-only mode have their profile hidden from the dating pool.
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
- Google Firebase: authentication, database storage, file storage, and analytics (Google Privacy Policy applies)
- Google Cloud Vision API: automated scanning of uploaded photos to detect inappropriate content
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: optional third-party authentication
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), which will permanently remove your profile and associated data within 30 days.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: request deletion of your data
- Portability: request your data in a portable format
- Objection: object to certain processing of your data

6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
DIP is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. If we become aware that a user is under 17, we will immediately delete their account and associated data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
