support@dipdating.comFrequently asked questions
A Dip is a matchmaking post created by a Matcher — someone who thinks two people on the app would be great together. They write a short note explaining why, and other Matchers can endorse the Dip. When enough people agree, the match is revealed to both people.
Not at all. You can sign up as a Matcher-only, which means your profile is completely hidden from the dating pool. You can browse, create Dips, and help others find love without being seen as someone who is available.
If you're in Find Love mode, your profile is visible to Matchers browsing the app — this is how you get matched. If you're in Matcher-only mode, your profile is hidden from everyone browsing for dates. You can change your mode at any time in your profile settings.
Go to Settings → scroll to the bottom → Delete Account. This will permanently remove your profile, photos, matches, and all associated data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Once a match is revealed, you'll both be able to see who the Matchers were and the notes they wrote about why you'd work. From there, you can start a conversation directly in the app. There's no pressure — take your time.
On any profile or in any chat, tap the three-dot menu and select Report. You can also block a user from the same menu. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. For urgent safety concerns, please email us directly at support@dipdating.com.
Yes, DIP is free to download and use. Core features including creating Dips (up to 5 per day), receiving matches, and messaging are all free. DIP Gold is an optional paid subscription that unlocks extra features like unlimited Dips, read receipts, advanced filters, ad-free browsing, and more. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store or Google Play.
No. Like the large majority of dating apps, DIP does not conduct criminal background checks, sex-offender registry checks, or identity screening on any user, beyond the optional voluntary verification described below. Always meet new people in a public place, tell a friend your plans, arrange your own transport, and trust your instincts. Full detail is in Section 12 of our Terms of Service, including specific safety notices for California, New York, Illinois, and New Jersey residents.
A verified badge means someone has voluntarily completed our selfie-and-ID verification process, which is a trust signal only. It is not a background check and does not guarantee a person's identity, character, or intentions — the same safety precautions apply to verified and unverified users alike.
Yes. DIP is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We collect a date of birth at sign-up and block registration for anyone who doesn't meet the age requirement, on every sign-up path (email, Google, and Apple). If you believe an account belongs to someone under 18, report it immediately using the in-app Report feature or by emailing us — see our Child Safety Standards.
Open Settings → Profile Mode, and choose Find Love, Matcher, or Both. Switching modes changes who can see your profile — Find Love makes you visible in Discover, Matcher-only keeps you hidden from the dating pool. You can change this at any time.
DIP Gold is billed and managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), not through DIP directly. To cancel or change your plan, open your subscriptions in the App Store/Play Store app on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals, but you keep Gold access until the end of your current billing period.
Yes. From Settings you can request an export of your data or delete your account outright. You can also email privacy@dipdating.com to exercise your data access, correction, or deletion rights — see our Privacy Policy for full detail on what we collect and your rights over it.
DIP is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, and Korean. The app follows your device's language by default — you can also set it manually in Settings.
